Enterprise Firewall Solutions
Hostway offer custom firewall solutions based primarily on Juniper Juniper SSG® Firewall technologies. These solutions actively protect complex enterprise hosting infrastructure, and can also penetrate into a client’s customer base, allowing ‘fully meshed’ VPN implementations to be created. This in turn creates a complete distributed solution between client, public user, and developer.
We can also offer fully managed firewall systems using Checkpoint and Cisco PIX technologies, as well as integrate them with other products including SSL VPNs.
Models
Hostway employ the latest Juniper Networks Secure Services Gateway (SSG) firewalls to deliver comprehensive network protection:
Juniper SSG5
Juniper SSG5The Juniper SSG5 firewall is a feature-rich, enterprise-class, network security solution. It integrates multiple security functions including: Stateful and Deep Inspection, IPSec VPN, Denial Of Service protection, Antivirus and Web Filtering. 
For application-level protection, the Juniper SSG5 appliance supports embedded virus scanning to help eliminate virus threats from the network. In addition, integrated Web filtering is offered so as to optimise productivity and bandwidth utilisation by controlling non business related Web surfing.
Juniper SSG140
Juniper SSG140The Juniper SSG140 firewall is an integrated security device designed for enterprise hosting systems, branch and remote offices, as well as small to medium-sized companies. 
They provide a compact solution allowing for multiple DMZs (‘De-Militarised Zones’ outside the secure network), high availability configurations, and integrated Deep Inspection requirements. They offer complete protection from more than 30 different attacks (including DOS), both internal and external, as well as application-level attack protection for Internet-facing protocols.
Service Features
Fully Managed
All aspects of firewall management are handled by Hostway’s experienced Dedicated Support staff, who handle the implementation, ongoing maintenance and integrity of all mission critical hardware. Firewalls are monitored round the clock, and where a problem or fault arises, the client is notified immediately of the situation, while Hostway engineers work to resolve it as fast as possible.
VPN Networks
Due to their in-built functionality, Juniper SSG firewalls make it simple to setup a VPN network. VPNs can either be implemented in a customer location either by using remote licenses, or by using further dedicated firewalls to create a hardware VPN.
VPN networks make it possible to create a secure network within the hosting solution, whether for the security of client data, or for web developer administration access.
Complex Configurations
Hostway can offer more complex firewall configurations, including:
- Entry Level – Juniper SSG5 firewalls running Surfcontrol and Antivirus for SME level companies.
- Mid Level – Juniper SSG140/320M firewalls running in Active/Passive pairs with redundancy in both the firewalls and the VPNs for business continuity.
- High Level – Hostway can also offer more advanced Juniper SSG solutions featuring active/passive configurations, VPN traffic shaping and integrated Websense solutions.
Hostway trained technicians configure your Firewall based on your specific instructions to ensure maximum security – we can of course change the configurations but this can only be done from authorised contacts within the customers company.
