VMware has picked up two accolades at Sys-Con Events' 2009 Cloud Computing Conference & Expo Show Awards.
The company was recognised for having the best cloud platform and the best overall cloud product at the inaugural event in San Jose, California this week.
Dan Chu, VMware's vice-president of emerging products and markets, claimed that it was particularly rewarding to receive recognition from experts within the IT industry.
"This award is a great endorsement of VMware's efforts in cloud computing and affirms our commitment to leading the industry in reliability, performance and cross-platform support," he remarked.
Every delegate in attendance at the event was given the opportunity to vote in the awards, with the other three categories for best cloud management solution, best cloud storage solution and best cloud application.
VMware announced earlier this week that its vCloud platform is being used by bmi, which is the second largest airline operator at Heathrow Airport.
