Best Buy's new UK ecommerce site has 'strong performance' over Christmas
One of the UK's newest ecommerce websites has announced that it had a "strong performance" over the Christmas period as more people ventured online to do their Christmas shopping.
Best Buy Europe, which is joint-owned by the Carphone Warehouse Group, was particularly strong in the home appliances market, according to its owners.
The group added that figures show that many customers visited the website before buying as part of their research into prices and availability.
Roger Taylor, the chief executive of the Carphone Warehouse Group, told internetretailing.net that the ecommerce performance is complimenting its growing presence on the high street.
"The online launch at Best Buy UK has gone well, adding to the strong customer satisfaction with our Big Box stores where our planned roll-out continues," he told the news provider.
Best Buy plans to open a further five stores in the UK in 2011 and has a long-term goal of opening around 200 outlets in the country.
