VMware gives SMBs a 'rapid return on investment'
VMware gives small and medium-sized businesses "proven technology, advances functionality and rapid return on investment".
That is according to Tim Stephan, senior director of product marketing for VMware, who said that more companies are turning to the system to help them reduce their costs while maintaining high standards in its IT.
Gartner's 2010 survey of medium-sized enterprises found that 75 per cent of companies expect to be using virtualisation widely by 2012.
Mr Stephan explained that there are many benefits to businesses using virtualisation technology.
"Once our SMB customers begin their virtualisation journey, they progress more rapidly than other types of businesses and adopt virtualisation to support a larger percentage of their infrastructure, including the use of the technology for more advanced applications such as business continuity and disaster recovery," he said.
Last week, VMware announced that its fourth-quarter profits more than doubled because of more companies adopting cloud computing and virtualisation.
