CRM expected to top business software spending increases in 2011, Gartner says
Nearly a third of companies are expecting to increase their expenditure on application software in 2011 - and customer relationship management (CRM) could see the largest growth.
Research analysts Gartner found that around 42 per cent of those questioned would be increasing their spending on CRM in 2011, compared to their budgets in 2010.
Additionally, 39 per cent said they will be spending more on office suites, while enterprise resource planning software was third with 26 per cent.
Hai Hong Swinehart, research analyst at Gartner, said that CRM products in particular are expected to be popular as firms look at making more money.
"We're expecting the CRM market to recover gradually as buyer confidence returns and as businesses begin refocusing on growing revenue as opposed to just reducing costs," he said.
Microsoft recently launched CRM Online, featuring the latest marketing methods and tools to ensure that companies are keeping their customers happy with the service they are providing.
