CRM programs could help companies struggling to match in-store customer experience
Customer relationship management programs could be required by businesses after a panel found that high street retailers are failing to provide excellent service online.
Several experts debated the role of customer service online at an event in Manchester last week and agreed that it is important to ensure that customers get the same service over the internet as they would in person.
Earlier this month, Microsoft's chief executive officer, Steve Ballmer, said that CRM Online will be an "industry-leading" product and help companies give the best service to people using its website.
According to ukfast.co.uk, Paul Walker, the managing director of Fred Aldous, told the panel that even negative feedback from social networking websites can help spur change for the good.
"Things are always going to go wrong, what is important is the way you respond to it and social networks give you the opportunity to tackle it head on and show the online world how highly you regard your customers' feedback," he said.
