Taiwan could be major player in ecommerce sector, expert says
Taiwan can take advantage of the growing ecommerce sector and become one of the world's leading players for online shopping over the coming years.
That is according to Jan Hung-tze, chairman of PChome Online Inc, who told Taiwan Today that the increasing use of mobile devices could lead to Taiwan profiting from investing on internet shopping websites.
His comments come after it was revealed last week that Brits spent £5.1 billion online during January, a 21 per cent rise compared to the same month in 2010.
Furthermore, travel spending increased by 173 per cent on the previous month, with the average value of holiday bookings increasing to a two-year high.
Mr Hung-tze told the news provider that firms of all sizes can make use of increasing levels of ecommerce spending.
"A new generation of small and medium enterprises will stand to benefit the most in the new business world as everyone can set up shop over the internet," he said.
