Supermarket chain Waitrose has announced it will be spending millions of pounds to upgrade its ecommerce site in a bid to appeal to more customers.
The firm will invest around £10 million to help improve its online shopping site as it looks to take on rival Ocado, along with other companies with a strong internet presence.
Waitrose also announced earlier this month that it is planning to start shipping food to the US and Canada in a bid to expand its business.
The Daily Telegraph reported that Waitrose has seen its exports steadily increase in the last decade, including selling pasta to India.
With a new website, the company is hoping to take advantage of a growing online market.
Waitrose's managing director, Mark Price, said: "This investment in our online platform will dramatically enhance the customer experience so that shoppers receive the unrivalled standards of service and the personal touch they associate with our branches."
