Businesses looking to improve their search engine optimisation should try and get accepted into Google News to help with click through rates, according to an IT organisation.
Horst Jopen of Econsultancy said that producing unique news content for a website and being ranked in Google News is an "awesome way to generate traffic" to page.
Furthermore, he advises businesses to update websites with the latest news quickly as Google looks for the freshest relevant content to a story.
Earlier this month, the chief executive officer of Awesome Resources, Sam Tilston, said that companies are willing to spend large amounts of money on improving their search engine optimisation.
However, Mr Jopen added that by including news on a website, businesses can get more click-through rates and therefore generate more traffic.
"Obviously one of the key things they'll (Google) track is whether the site is frequently updated with news. This can be very specific news related to your niche. But it must constitute news, not analysis, opinion or informative articles," he said.
