Cloud adoption now a necessity rather than an option, says IT commentator
Businesses are now adopting cloud computing as a necessity, rather than an option, as they look for cost-saving benefits.
That is according to Nabeel Fayoumi, general manager of the National Information Technology Centre in Jordan, who told the Jordan Times that the "whole world is resorting to cloud computing" in a bid to cut expenditure.
A report published by Gartner, published last month, found that adoption of cloud computing is expected to rise as chief information officers reallocate budgets.
In-Stat also predicted last month that cloud computing spending would rise to £8.13 billion of 2014.
Mr Fayoumi told the news provider that the country is seeing more firms introducing cloud computing to help reduce its costs.
"In Jordan, there has been huge spending on technology with no clear return. Although the spending on technology was immense, but we have not witnessed a tangible positive impact over the past years," he said.
