Money spent on introducing search engine optimisation techniques to help boost a brand's website in result pages "will easily pay for itself" if done properly.
That is according to Patrick Altoft, director of Branded3, who said that the amount spent is irrelevant - it is the quality that counts.
He was speaking at the Technology For Marketing & Advertising event in Earls Court, which took place earlier this month.
Leading suppliers of digital, direct, data and CRM solutions attended and discussed latest industry trends and developments.
Mr Altoft added that a successful SEO strategy will provide a strong return on investment for businesses.
"If you do a good job, it will easily pay for itself; if you do a bad job, you're just throwing your money away," he said.
"It's really important to select the right provider – don't just go for the cheapest one, go with one that's going to do a really good job."
