IBM opens new cloud computing centre in Singapore
IBM has opened a new $38 million (£23.54 million) cloud computing centre in Asia Pacific to help companies in the country with cloud services.
The IBM Asia Pacific Cloud Computing Data Centre will be situated in Singapore, giving firms from India help with getting the most from cloud computing.
According to business-standard.com, this is IBM's latest cloud centre with others in Germany, Canada and the US, with another seven in Asia Pacific countries including China, India, Japan and Hong Kong.
Ashish Kumar, the general manager of IBM Global Technology Services, told the news provider that the move will help provide security standards and help clients minimalise their capital expenditure.
"In India, we see a great opportunity for the software development industry and other IT driven businesses to leverage the IBM enterprise cloud offering in order to divert their test and development workload for more productive use," he said.
Earlier this month, the company introduced a new program to help quicken virtual machines.
