Domain name hosting changes will give businesses a chance to have 'regulated slice of internet'

Domain name hosting changes will give businesses a chance to have 'regulated slice of internet'

New domain name hosting plans will help give business people a chance to have their own authentic name space, according to an industry expert.

Alan Kinderis, the chief executive officer of AusREgistry International, told smartupsmart.com.au that the introduction of new top-level domain names will give more people the chance to own "their own trusted, regulated slice of internet" real estate.

Furthermore, he believes that it can also improve security for internet users as people will know which websites are linked to which company.

Mr Kinderis told the news provider that businesses will be able to say that if the address does not have its suffix, it is not their site.

He added: "Not to mention making it easier for customers to find content online without using a search engine, because all they will need to remember [for National Australia Bank] is creditcards.nab, for instance."

Amazon is thought to have purchased a number of dot co domain names as it looks to take advantage of new top-level domain addresses.
