Multi-layer security could help firms protect information, expert says
Companies could look at using both anti-spam and anti-virus software to help protect their information after an expert said that multiple layers of security are the most important to have.
Ian Shaw, the managing director of MWR InfoSecurity, said that though it is "very difficult" to create a 100 per cent secure system, having a number of security layers will help contain any attack.
He added that encryption could be the way to help bolster security.
Last month, Tony Neate of Get Safe Online said that firms must ensure that their security packages are up-to-date so that they and their websites are properly protected.
Mr Shaw believes that a multi-layer set up is important to begin with as it can help protect information.
"The most important thing is an in-depth approach with multiple layers of security, so that even if there is a compromise, at worst it is only a partial compromise, and ideally more sensitive information is protected [with] more details using an encryption," he said.
