'Tremendous scope' for companies to make money from ecommerce
Businesses could look at introducing an ecommerce website after an expert said that small businesses have a "tremendous scope" to increase internet turnover.
Phil Kingsland, site director of knowthenet.org.uk, said that there will be a huge difference for businesses that turn to the internet in a bid to develop revenue streams.
He added that while small businesses have 2.4 per cent of their turnover come from online sources, this is 18.7 per cent for large firms - suggesting that an online website could help to increase income.
His comments come after research by JiWire, published last month (May 24th), revealed that the majority of mobile shoppers are using phones to spend time researching future purchases.
Mr Kingsland advises companies to try and get clued up on what is needed to create an ecommerce site.
"For many small businesses, taking the time to read around developments in web technology and growing their understanding of how they can tie this into their business could make a huge difference," he added.
