Cloud services to create 300,000 jobs in India, Microsoft says
Cloud hosting services look likely to create thousands of new jobs in India over the coming years as more small and medium-sized businesses look at using the technology.
Research by IDC revealed that revenues are set to hit $3 billion (£1.84 billion) by 2015 from the $534 million this year.
Furthermore, Steve Ballmer, the chief executive officer of Microsoft, said that around 300,000 new jobs will be created in the country because of cloud hosting services.
Mr Ballmer added that it important to construct technology that will help people improve the way they work.
"The first element is developing natural human interfaces which recognise basic human characteristics like voice and touch," he explained.
"The evolution of technology is such that it should be working the way people work."
Last week, IBM unveiled a new cloud hosting platform to be hosted in Asia Pacific, providing infrastructure-as-a-service to businesses in the area.
