HD video streaming facility to be installed on International Space Station
Video streaming technology is set to be installed on the International Space Station in a bid to allow the public to witness live footage, it has been revealed.
Speaking at the UK Space Conference on Monday (July 4th), minister for universities David Willetts revealed that the two HD cameras will be installed next year.
The project, which is a joint venture between Canada, Russia and the UK, is set to give internet users the opportunity to search for particular locations.
Mr Willetts highlighted the UK's important role in space technology, as well as the benefits provided by its research facilities.
"This exciting international project will give people the opportunity to see Earth from an astronaut's perspective," he added.
In other video streaming news, social networking website Facebook has recently announced the launch of a new chat service for its 750 million users.
As part of the Skype-powered feature, individuals will be able to enjoy one-on-one chats with friends.
