Businesses using cloud services in a bid to limit increasing computer costs could be interested in a recent announcement from Microsoft.
The IT giant yesterday (July 21st) revealed a significant increase to year-on-year revenues with its annual fourth-quarter and full-year results.
As part of the document, the company reported an eight per cent increase in profits compared with the same period in 2010.
Additionally, the organisation's online services grew by 15 per cent during the year as well as 17 per cent in the fourth quarter, which was primarily as a result of search revenue.
Peter Klein, Microsoft's chief financial officer, said: "We delivered to market a strong line-up of products and services which translated into double-digit revenue growth and operating margin expansion."
Earlier this week, the firm suggested that its Kinect software and sensor, available with the Xbox 360 console, had helped large numbers of disabled children enjoy computer games for the first time.
