M86 report reveals increased internet security threat
Businesses hoping to limit their exposure to internet security threats could be interested in a new report from M86 Security.
As part of its detailed review of the first half of 2011, the global provider has uncovered an increase in targeted and combined email-based attacks.
While spam levels have reduced in the previous six months, the findings revealed that internet criminals are fast developing new methods of gaining user trust.
In addition, social networking websites such as Facebook and Twitter are becoming an increasingly common target for fraudsters to gain access to personal information.
Bradley Antis, the company's vice president of technical strategy, said: "By understanding the latest attack methods, enterprises and their security administrators can better prevent malware from infiltrating networks and systems."
Earlier this year, M86 Security's VuSafe website was praised by eSchool News for its dedication to educating people about the learning benefits available from websites such as YouTube.
