Apple TV gets new streaming service
A new streaming service has been added to Apple's TV set-top box, giving owners the ability to purchase shows from iTunes and watch those that have already been bought.
The upgrade, which was released on Monday (August 1st), is available to customers via the device's Update Software function.
Once they have installed the latest software version, users will be able to view a list of "purchased" programmes at the top of the TV Shows menu on the home screen.
As well as the ability to stream content, the update gives customers the opportunity to browse and play videos from Vimeo, mark clips they want to watch later and access their video inbox.
Apple has claimed its TV service is "small in size but big on entertainment", offering consumers the chance to rent from a variety of big-name high-definition films and stream photos and music from their computer to their television set.
It also allows people to enjoy live Major League Baseball coverage.
