Businesses using video streaming technology in a bid to remain up to date with the latest current affairs seem to be sticking to the well-known brands, it has emerged.
According to Broadband TV News, the number of people accessing online video content through their televisions has reached 60 per cent of connected-TV owners who use the applications at least once per week.
However, the research - carried out by In-Stat - revealed that popular brands such as YouTube and Netflix remain the most popular among technology-savvy people.
Research director Keith Nissen said: "As Netflix competitors become more numerous and applications are optimised for the big screen, TV apps will become part of the mainstream TV viewing experience."
Meanwhile, Apple TV users in the UK could be pleased to hear a new deal has been created between the technology giant, Vimeo and iTunes to make it easier for British consumers to access additional video streaming and audio content services.
