Business leaders considering the adoption of cloud services could receive further encouragement following comments from an expert.
Stuart Hibbert, chief executive of icomplete.com, suggested that firms should adopt the technology for a small price to improve the functionality of their IT operations.
He claimed that without the need to set up the system independently, office workers are able to reap the numerous benefits offered by the facility with no need to back up documents on an individual server.
"It's going to be available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week … so basically, you can be up and running and using it very, very quickly," Mr Hibbert explained.
In addition, the adoption of cloud services allows companies to focus primarily on their overall business processes without the need for concerns over IT security.
The remote working environment that can be created using the system also provides employees with the opportunity to work from home if commuting is not possible, with bosses able to monitor their progress through the system.
Mr Hibbert suggested that the adoption of cloud services could be an ideal solution for companies looking to improve employee productivity with a fast and reliable IT system.
He claimed that through the utilisation of a "dashboard", members of staff are able to check the processes occurring in real-time, which provides a great deal of independence for employees and eradicates the need for bosses to check-up on workers.
"So, for example, you can see telephone calls that are happening, emails and everything that's happening with your contacts in real time," he asserted.
Additionally, Mr Hibbert claimed that the adoption of cloud services could motivate members of staff to strive to carry out their best work because they are given access to a wide range of tools.
Meanwhile, US technology firm Intel has announced plans to inject $30 million (£18.5 million) into the development of two new Intel Science and Technology Centres at Carnegie Mellon University to conduct further research into cloud computing.
