Cloud services 'are becoming a necessity for businesses'
Increasing customer expectations have resulted in cloud services emerging as a necessity among businesses of all sizes, it has been suggested.
Rhianna Collier, vice president for the software division at the Software and Information Industry Association, stressed the importance of adopting the technology in a bid to contend with ongoing demand from consumers.
Ms Collier noted the transformation of cloud services from a useful tool for IT companies to a viable option for all industries looking to make improvements to their operations.
Her comments come alongside advice for small and medium-sized enterprises to work with managed hosting providers to discuss the capabilities required for their company.
"Customers now expect the flexibility and scalability that you get with cloud … solutions. If you cannot provide this type of service you will struggle to grow your business," Ms Collier added.
The comments emerge after the Economic Times suggested that the high number of benefits provided by cloud services more than outweigh the limited associated risks.
