Tesco launches international online clothing delivery
Supermarket retailer Tesco has announced plans to extend its online delivery service for its clothing range to include international markets for the first time.
Announced yesterday (October 4th), the plans will see customers in countries across the EU able to purchase items from the company's ecommerce fashion arm.
Since launching the service in October 2009, Tesco's online clothing business has seen significant success, with a 45 per cent sales increase in the last six months alone.
Jill Easterbrook, director of Tesco Clothing, suggested that extending the delivery service could have a positive effect in promoting the brand in a wider marketplace.
She added: "Our loyal online following tells us they want to be able to buy fashionable, good value clothes from us and have them sent outside the UK. We think there is a great opportunity."
This news comes after rapid ecommerce company Shutl announced plans to expand its services to six more cities across the UK, including Bristol, Cardiff and Liverpool.
