Ecommerce businesses 'should not concentrate on style over substance'
Ecommerce companies should focus more on the products they are selling and improving customer relationships, as opposed to simply creating an attractive website.
This is the opinion of Stefan Boyle, founder of PrintRepublic.co.uk, who suggested some homepages fail to convert and focus on "style over substance".
Mr Boyle, who also runs TheSocialMediaRepublic.co.uk, claimed ensuring websites have strong headlines and interesting content should be the main priority for ecommerce brands.
Capturing the visitor's attention, while considering the target audience and what they are looking for, are also important factors for companies to consider in a bid to attract custom.
"It's important for people to look how they're promoting their business online - whether it's a full ecommerce solution, or just how they're using the internet to generate inquiries," Mr Boyle asserted.
This comes after Mr Boyle suggested firms should focus on the most desired action of their website, as well as considering what it is they want their customers to do, while attempting to attract more internet traffic.
