Virtualisation 'acts as an enabler to technologies'
Virtualisation provides a platform for many different technologies and has lots of key benefits, according to one expert organisation.
A representative from a news website about the virtualisation industry, Virtualization.info,suggested that there are key efficiency and cost advantages to investing in such operating systems.
Kenneth van Surksum, chief editor of Virtualization.info, said: "Virtualisation can be considered an enabler for many more technologies, like virtual desktop infrastructure, disaster recovery, dynamic movement of workloads between a pool of virtualisation hosts and as an enabler for migration to cloud computing."
He added that the ability to run multiple operating systems on one piece of hardware enables users to utilise many useful programmes.
This method also allows operating systems to move easily between virtualisation hosts running on the same virtualisation platform.
A spokesperson for Protiviti UK, a business consulting company, commented that emerging technologies and cloud services provide all organisations with opportunities to change the way they operate.
