Online vehicle sales 'becoming more popular'
Ecommerce for the motor industry has seen a vast improvement over the past year, according to statistics from British Car Auctions (BCA) that showed an 11 per cent year-on-year rise in online activity.
Latest sales results from the car selling website found that it passed the mark of 100,000 online sales in 2011 a month earlier than last year.
Commercial director D'Vidis Jacobs said: "Online sales volumes have again grown significantly this year at BCA with Live Online, Bid Now, Buy Now and e-Auction numbers rising by around 11 per cent across the board."
He added that an increasing number of people are opting to buy vehicles online as ecommerce websites provide ease of access from anywhere at any time of the day.
BCA offers buyers the opportunity to purchase a wide range of vehicles through deals such as part exchange, direct from the manufacturer and also allows buyers to look at investing in specialist vehicles.
Mr Jacobs predicted that the online market for vehicles will continue to grow each year.
