LOVEFiLM and BBC join forces in streaming deal
LOVEFiLM has made a deal with BBC Worldwide to give its members streaming access to content from the television provider's archive and favourites.
The Amazon-owned company will offer video-on-demand access to the British broadcaster's material, as well as other celebrated programmes commissioned by British television makers.
Worldwide audiences will be able to gain access to television titles such as popular drama Doctor Who, Life On Mars, Spooks and documentaries such as David Attenborough's Planet Earth.
Simon Calver, chief executive officer of Amazon's LOVEFiLM, said: "This gives LOVEFiLM an even more powerful, unique offering of instant programming for our members to view across a growing number of platforms, for one low monthly price."
He added that the company is thrilled to be combining British television with Europe's leading film subscription service.
Currently, LOVEFiLM has more than 1.9 million members across Europe in countries such as the UK, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
