Adult.co.uk goes up for sale after success of previous auctions
Domain name adult.co.uk has gone on sale after similar web addresses had plenty of success when going up for auction recently.
Originally bought in 1996, the address is thought to be worth millions of dollars after sex.com was sold for $13 million (£8.15 million) last October.
Earlier this week, a report by Sedo found that only 15 out of the 30 UK companies it questioned had registered their .com domain name, suggesting that there are opportunities for firms to market themselves further.
Additionally, none of the 30 questioned had their equivalent in France, China, Russia or Brazil.
A spokesman for the owners of adult.co.uk told t3.com that domain names are a good way to develop their brand.
"I believe that many businesses are realising how much a good domain name can help with the success of their business," he told the news provider.
"A domain name like Adult.co.uk is very clear, concise and, most importantly, best in class for its related sector."
