Domain names are 'big business' for firms looking for search engine success
Having the right domain name for a company is "big business" as it automatically launches websites further up the search engine list.
That is according to impactmedia.co.uk, which uses workplacesafetyadvice.co.uk as an example of how a relevant domain name can boost search engine optimisation.
It said that by searching for 'work place safety advice', users would see the above website before official government sites and Wikipedia simply because of its domain name.
Earlier this month, discountvouchers.co.uk purchased the dot com version to further grow its revenue streams and more businesses are turning to domain names to increase their share of the online shopping market.
The article added that a relevant domain name is crucial to success.
"Your domain name says a lot about you. It is your online identity. Whatever it is, your website is built around that simple word, term or phrase," it said.
"Any URL you create will always contain your domain."
