The majority of PR professionals use bloggers when developing their marketing strategy, a new white paper has revealed.
According to research from DWPub, 82 per cent work with bloggers to provide coverage for clients and 98 per cent find them "useful or invaluable".
DWPub chairman and founder Daryl Willcox said that the results were "overwhelmingly positive".
"Bloggers are here to stay and the PR industry is beginning to embrace them," he said.
The report found that interaction with bloggers is on the rise, as 74 per cent of respondents stated that it was becoming more commonplace within the sector.
Intergration was judged to be successful if it led to interaction with readers, an increase in post views and click-through rates to client websites.
However, the white paper did find that 18 per cent of PR staff did not work with bloggers, largely because they found it "difficult to evaluate their usefulness".
The results suggest that a measurable approach is needed to help businesses understand blogs and how they can be intergrated into a marketing strategy.
