BT supports Aurora and Karen Millen ecommerce plans

BT supports Aurora and Karen Millen ecommerce plans

Ecommerce businesses looking to increase sales by developing an online marketing strategy could be interested in recent plans announced by BT.

The telecommunications company has signed a five-year agreement to support the internet sales plans of two big-name clothing retailers.

BT Fresca has signed the deal with Aurora Fashions and Karen Millen in a bid to grow the brands outside the UK, with the firm initially focusing on company expansion in Europe and Australia.

Recently optimised for mobile commerce purposes, the Karen Millen website is one of the big names that have previously used the services of the telecoms giant, with others including Oasis, Warehouse and Coast.

The move is set to improve on the already strong international presence of the two companies, which operate in 49 markets across the globe.

As part of the deal, BT is set to provide local language websites and tailored customer service methods to cater to the relevant countries. In addition, appropriate payment techniques and promotions will be featured, beginning with Australia and Germany.

"We selected BT Fresca on their proven record of delivery and support, and a shared vision of priorities for the next phase of growth within this channel," explained Ish Patel, group strategic development director at Aurora Fashions.

"We're confident of increasing our online sales around the world with BT's help."

BT's ecommerce platform aims to integrate creativity with back office operations in a bid to improve sales figures while offering customers a pleasant online experience. This service is behind an increasing number of international sales pages.

Gav Wilkinson, joint managing director at BT Fresca, said: "It's very exciting … to build on our five-year relationship with Aurora and to be an intrinsic part of its plans to develop its business."

This news comes after IMRG and Experian Hitwise reported that Amazon and Argos were the most popular ecommerce brands in the UK as part of a new top 50.
