Ecommerce businesses looking to attract more custom could make alterations to their delivery systems following recent research.
A recent survey carried out by the Co-operative Electrical and published in the Guardian, revealed that 90 per cent of shoppers were frustrated when a delivery time was not specified upon purchasing an item.
Researchers discovered that consumers were not happy about having to take time off work to ensure they do not miss the arrival of their new goods.
Andrew Starkey, head of e-logistics at IMRG, advised customers to look out for the company's Internet Is Safe standard when purchasing products online.
"Displaying the trust mark gives shoppers confidence that the retailers they shop with can delivery on time, first time, every time," he explained.
The membership community recently released its 2011 Consumer Delivery Survey, which revealed that perception the influence of the gold standard had increased 125 per cent year-on-year.
