Ecommerce popularity on increase in France
Internet users in France are increasingly choosing to purchase items through ecommerce websites as opposed to traditional shopping methods, it has emerged.
New research carried out by comScore revealed that 83 per cent of consumers browsed products using the platform in July, totalling 39.4 million unique visitors.
In addition, analysts discovered that 43.6 million hours were spent using ecommerce websites during the month-long period, accounting for 3.8 per cent of online time in France.
Residents living in the south east of the country were found to be more likely to carry out their shopping through the internet, with these consumers usually aged between 25 and 34 years old.
This news comes after Facebook ecommerce platform Payvment announced the launch of its new development platform to enable application developers to integrate their services.
Christian Taylor, the company's founder and chief executive, said: "Payvment is the first foray into ecommerce for many new sellers - as their businesses grow, they are frequently looking for additional solutions that are compatible with their Payvment store."
