Ecommerce spending could rise as interest in superfast broadband grows
More people could be using ecommerce websites in the future as an expert believes that interest in superfast broadband is increasing.
Clodagh Murphy, the director of Eclipse Internet, said that people are asking when high-speed broadband will be available in their area.
She says that her company are in talks with BT so that they can provide customers with the latest information.
It comes after the Republic of Ireland government announced yesterday (May 9th) that it has set-up a task force to look at how it can widen the use of superfast broadband.
With more people looking to spend money online, and more people having access to the internet, online spending looks set to increase further.
Ms Murphy believes the introduction of high-speed broadband is creating plenty of interest.
"A lot of customers want to know when it will be available in their area so we recently developed a simple availability map," she said.
"This allows customers to select their area and see when their area will be enabled."
