Small and medium-sized businesses looking to market their products could look at search engine Bing after Microsoft announced that it would be the default browser for Research In Motion (RIM) smartphones.
The companies revealed the plan yesterday (May 3rd) at the RIM BlackBerry World conference that will mean BlackBerry phones will have Bing set as a default on both search engines and maps.
This could mean companies look at ways of improving their search engine optimisation for Bing as more people use the website to look for websites.
Matt Dahlin, the director of Bing, said that the move will see changes across the world and not only in the US.
"Central to this collaboration, BlackBerry devices will use Bing as the preferred search provider in the browser, and Bing will be the default search and map application for new devices presented to mobile operators, both in the United States and internationally," he said.
Figures published by eMarketer last month revealed that Bing increased its share of search engines to 10.2 per cent in 2010.
