Microsoft announces new cloud services deal
Capgemini will offer several Windows Azure-based cloud services as part of a new deal with Microsoft.
Under the agreement, Capgemini will market and deliver solutions across 22 markets, with the UK, France and North America included in the initial focus of the project.
Offers will be targeted at specific industries such as financial services, energy and utilities, and public sector organisations.
The partners are also set to work alongside each other to assist software providers that have designed solutions for particular markets using Windows Azure.
Doug Hauger, general manager for Windows Azure at Microsoft, said the joint plan will benefit mutual customers of the two firms, who will be able to take advantage of flexible cloud services.
"Applications developed on Windows Azure can be deployed rapidly with the reliability and security that's essential for the enterprise," he added.
Microsoft has launched Windows Azure and SQL Azure in 41 regions and countries, including Australia, the UK and US.
