Global force 'is the way to tackle online security risks'
Online security breaches need to be tackled on a global scale to fully put an end to the rising trend of e-crime.
This is according to reputation expert and director of mediacoach.co.uk Alan Stevens, who suggested that the most effective way to stop hackers is to have measures put in place with the backing of all internet users.
Following the announcement that internet encyclopaedia Wikipedia would shut down its services today (January 18th) to protest about the Stop Online Piracy Act (Sopa) in the US, Mr Stevens said that even the most powerful organisation can be humbled by the online community.
"Wikipedia's blackout does exactly what opponents of the Sopa Bill want and that is to raise the issue to the attention of as many people as possible," the expert added.
He explained that politicians and media giants across the world will need to come to terms with the risks of internet security breaches and the fact the online community is a powerful movement that could bring about major change to society.
