Cloud computing heralds "new dawn" of business expectations
An increase in the number of businesses using cloud computing reflects a change in how employers expect their staff to work.
Stuart Hibbert, chief executive of icomplete.com believes there has been a "new dawn" in how employees are able to carry out their work remotely and access information.
"They have more flexibility about their working conditions," he said.
Mr Hibbert believes that the upcoming Olympics may account for the improvements in flexible work options.
Travel association ABTA estimates that more than two million Brits will take time off from work for events related to the Games.
Cloud computing means that they can access company information if necessary without needing to be physically present in the workplace.
It can also save businesses time and money by enabling staff to access applications through the cloud, rather than buying them privately.
As more and more people use smartphones and tablets, there is also a mounting expectation for businesses to support mobile platforms.
