Cloud computing will go 'hand-in-hand' with traditional technology, expert says
Cloud services will walk "hand-in-hand" with traditional computing and virtualisation over the next three to five years, according to an IT expert.
Vikas Bhonsle, general manager of large enterprise operations at Dell India, told The Hindu that private cloud services will be a "large part of the pie, along with virtualisation and the public cloud".
He added that software-as-a-service applications will develop further as companies search for more cost-effective computing.
Last week, Nick Russo told businesstoday.com.au that cloud computing will help firms become more agile and smarter.
Mr Bhonsle added that cloud services will become more widely used in the coming years.
"Whatever the approach, over the next three to five years, cloud computing will play a larger role in the IT portfolio," he told the news provider.
"In the longer term, however, the elements and characteristics of cloud computing will be absorbed into IT and it will simply come to represent the way computing is handled."
