Cloud hosting services 'levels the playing field' for small firms
Cloud hosting services have levelled the playing field for small businesses looking to match larger organisations in the technology stakes.
That is the view of Basil Daniells, the regional sales director of the Middle East, North Africa and India for Epicor, who told the Saudi Gazette that cloud services are providing a cheaper way for companies to use leading applications.
Furthermore, he said that that cloud computing is set to grow in popularity over the next decade or so as more firms find the cost-saving benefits of using the technology.
IBM is another company looking to invest in the future of technology, opening a new cloud computing data centre in Singapore to help give companies access to its SmartCloud Enterprise platform.
Mr Daniells believes that the cost benefits will see more firms use cloud.
"It is now possible for a company to get access to the latest technology for a fixed monthly fee, with little or no capital expenditure," he told the news provider.
"It's another example of the Internet levelling the playing field, and enabling companies of all sizes to be competitive."
