Hosted cloud services investment set to rise
Management teams across a wide range of organisations are said to be realising the numerous benefits associated with the use of hosted cloud services.
A new report published by professional services company KPMG revealed that 81 per cent of businesses are planning, or are in the early stages, of experimenting with the increasingly popular technology.
The document highlighted a significant number of executives confirming their intentions of adopting the services, with ten per cent currently running all core IT operations using the cloud.
Also, 80 per cent of participants stated that the switch to unified communications was driven by efforts to improve existing operations by allowing more agility across the enterprise.
Tudor Aw, KPMG's head of technology in the UK, said: "In these harsh economic times, cloud computing should be considered by all companies that strive to reduce costs."
His comments emerge after James Peel, product manager for Opsview, urged organisations to monitor the way members of staff utilise cloud services to ensure they are using it in the correct manner.
