'More remote and more virtual' ways of working could see boost to cloud hosting services
Cloud hosting services could be required by companies after a business expert said that ways of working will become "more remote and more virtual" in the future.
Dr James Bellini, a business futurologist, said that he is not surprised that more people expect to be working remotely in the coming years as more businesses provide the platform from which people can do so.
Research conducted by the Orange National Business Awards, published earlier this week (April 13th), found that two thirds of businesses think that technological advances will result in huge changes over the next decade.
Also, 40 per cent of organisations questioned expect themselves and their employees to be working remotely in ten years' time.
Dr Bellini added that flexible and remote working is already in place now, suggesting that cloud companies are providing more businesses with hosted services.
"There's something like four million working adults in this country already working in a free agent way; they don't work for any particular company, they don't go to a fixed-place office every day," he said.
"Four million is quite big, and it's growing."
