Security 'is biggest issue for cloud services customers'
Worries over security are the main factor holding businesses back from adopting cloud services, a new poll has revealed.
Carried out by online magazine eWeek Europe, the survey showed that 19 per cent of respondents were concerned with the safety of the technology.
In addition, 13 per cent had worried about the service's reliability and 11 per cent were unsure about the chances of losing control of their IT operations.
However, the study revealed that the number of individuals who felt the adoption of cloud services was a bad idea in itself had fallen to eight per cent.
Publication editor Peter Judge said: "If these are the questions our readers are asking, then it seems the cloud is now a real option for them."
Ian Osborne, project director at Intellect, urged businesses to adopt the technology to make it easier for home workers to gain access to their email and increase productivity.
