Sheffield initiative promotes benefits of Software-as-a-Service
Sheffield business leaders using cloud services in a bid to reduce their IT costs could be interested in the launch of a new campaign in the city.
The Local Enterprise Partnership has announced plans to host the Creative and Digital Industries sector group to discuss a variety of innovative developments in the sector.
Set to be chaired by Sheffield University professor of computer science Mike Holcombe, the group aims to encourage regeneration plans across the city.
As part of the initiative, attendees will be informed of the benefits of providing Software-as-a-Service and encouraged to collaborate with companies to create a network of data centres in the region.
"The opportunity is to ensure that both the city region and the UK continue to innovate in order to remain globally competitive," explained board member and founder of digital technology firm Plusnet Lee Strafford.
This news comes after Plusnet was recognised in 13 out of 14 categories at this year's Broadband Choice's Customer Satisfaction Awards.
