Virtualisation a 'panacea' for IT industry
Virtualisation has emerged as a universally suitable technology for improving the efficiency of IT systems, despite the various differences that exist between businesses and sectors.
This is the suggestion of Tim Schumann, chief executive of IT firm Business Connexion's technology group, who told IT Web that virtualisation can be successful across all sectors and industries.
He also suggested that automated virtualisation will be the next major development in the sphere, with this development already gathering momentum.
"There are few panaceas in IT," Mr Schumann was quoted as saying.
"But where virtualisation is concerned, most organisations today have deployed some form of this technology and seen most of the difficulties they face in their environments go away."
His comments come after virtualisation specialist VMware last week announced the launch of its View application on the iPad, allowing tablet users to access their virtual Windows desktops while out and about using the portable device.
