More firms could be using virtualisation after a recruitment firm said that the IT jobs market is "leaving the recession behind".
Dan Hawes, the co-founder of the Graduate Recruitment Bureau, pinpointed technology as one of the most popular areas of recruitment at the current time, suggesting that more firms are hiring to help introduce virtualisation and other projects.
His comments come as the Recruitment and Employment Confederation's JobsOutlook report found that 21 per cent of businesses are looking at increasing their headcount in 2011.
Furthermore, 95 per cent are expecting to grow their permanent staff levels, or keep them the same, in the next three months.
Mr Hawes added that IT is joining the finance sector in creating the most jobs as technology departments look at increasing their functions.
He said: "There are certain sectors leading the way, like financial services, investment banking and the like. IT, retail and FMCG [fast-moving consumer goods] are all areas we're very busy with at the moment.
"We are leaving the recession behind us and we are slowly noticing growth in different areas."
