Budget constraints and compliance issues 'must be overcome'
IT security systems are often under pressure from budget constraints coupled with the demands of internet compliance rules, according to one expert.
A representative from security lifecycle specialist Tufin Technologies suggested that in the current cost-conscious times, most companies' budgets are constantly under review and cuts are often made.
"This makes the task of a hard-pressed IT security admin or manager all the more difficult, especially given the disparate operating systems and networking environments we all have to deal with," said Michael Hamelin, chief security architect at the company.
He added that the volume of regulatory and compliance requirements is increasing and becoming a more prominent feature within the industry.
Networking and IT environments are fast becoming an integral part of security functions, so such systems should be compliant with online rules and regulations, according to the expert.
Mark Dampster, associate of the Centre for Cyber Security, recently commented that online security should be the central part of any business to ensure the safety of data and in-house information.
